Radio West Ltd is located in Mbarara town, the heartland of Uganda’s most economically and politically vibrant region. It started on April 10, 1999 as a commercially oriented radio station.

Corporate mission

Beside the media aspects information, education and entertainment, Radio West encourages active participation of its listeners in its programmes with emphasis on social and economic modernisation.

Departments

1. Editorial:
This department is in charge of gathering news from all corners of the country and broadcasting it accurately and objectively to our listeners. It is headed by the Chief News Editor

2. Marketing
This is the department responsible for advertising, sales and promoting the radio station to our listeners and the general public. It is headed by the Marketing Manager.

3. Programmes
The programmes department is responsible for research, collecting information, developing and designing listener friendly programmes. It is headed by the Programmes Manager. 

4. Accounts and Audit
This department is generally responsible for the finances of the Radio Station. It is headed by the Accountant and Internal Auditor.

5. Technical
These are in charge of maintenance of the radio’s various transmission equipments and ensuring that the signal is consistent with listeners’ expectations. It is headed by the Chief Technician.

Equipment

The studios are equipped with ultra modern technology and a variety of music in its library. There is uniqueness in production when the studios are going on air in case of talk show programmes on political and current affairs.

Staff

The station is manned by some of the nation’s best personnel in the broadcasting industry, with a blend of well known names and upcoming talents. This therefore endows Radio West with effective appeal to both rural and urban listeners; young and old. Hence it is the best radio station to advertise with.
